Activities

The tourism industry is encountering challenging times in attempting to emerge from the pandemic. As part of executive development programmes being offered by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof King ran multiple day sessions on Organizational Change and Transformation for executives at two organizations, namely Chimelong Group (global top 10 theme park operator) and Nina Hospitality (a Hong Kong-based hotel group). The sessions for Chimelong Group were conducted in hybrid mode (with interpretation into Chinese) with face-to-face delivery adopted for Nina Hospitality. For the instructor it was undoubtedly less challenging to deliver face-to-face (and without the addition of interpretation into Chinese!). Fortunately, the talented interpreter (SHTM’s own Mr Ben Jiang) was a huge help to ensure that effective learning occurred in difficult circumstances.
