Marina Novelli

Awards and Recognitions

  • Professor Novelli won the PRME Award for Outreach and Partnership in recognition of her extensive, impactful and sustainable outreach efforts, achieved through partnerships in the tourism sector. PRME is a United Nations-supported initiative of the UN Global Compact, and awards business and management schools for their excellence in embedding sustainability and responsible management practices into business education.
  • Earlier this year she received the prestigious John Rooney Award from the American Association of Geographers (AAG) for her outstanding contributions to the field and discipline of Applied Recreation, Tourism and Sport Geography. Marina has been driving multi-stakeholder partnerships and led impactful initiatives, interventions and programs that have fostered changes in policy, practice and performances of business, government, and civil society to address pressing sustainability challenges across the tourism sector.
