Operational Research (OR) has long been recognised as a valuable analytical tool in tourism and hospitality.
Since Swart et al. (1978) first highlighted its methodological importance, OR has continued to address
complex tourism-related challenges. Recent advances in big data and system complexity have further
strengthened the synergy between OR and tourism, enabling innovative solutions to contemporary issues. The
conference brings together the OR and Data Science community across sectors, offering networking
opportunities, knowledge exchange with key decision makers, and a platform to share and discuss the work.
The Tourism and Hospitality Stream invites abstracts and presentations employing quantitative and/or
qualitative OR methods. We welcome contributions addressing a broad spectrum
of topics, including but not limited to:
Forecasting tourism demand
Predicting tourist behaviour and preferences
Clustering and market segmentation
Efficient routing solutions
Flow management in tourism systems
Applications of AI and machine learning
Assessing environmental and social sustainability
Evaluating the impact of external factors on destinations and businesses
Smart destinations and smart accommodation
Optimising spaces for guest experience and operational efficiency
Resource allocation, staff scheduling, and inventory management
